Job summary

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Manassas, VA is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to manage complex journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis. You will contribute to close processes, prepare internal statements, and support audits while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires at least five years in manufacturing accounting, a bachelor’s in accounting, and strong Excel/ERP skills; Sage experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel and Word; ERP experience with Sage is a plus.

About Site

The ~70,000‑square‑foot Manassas facility operates within Catalent’s Consumer Health portfolio, supporting programs from early development through commercial manufacturing and packaging. It is designed for dietary supplement and food‑safety cGMP operations, making it distinct from Catalent’s traditional pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing sites.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will handle key accounting activities, including preparing and reviewing close processes and financial statements. You will work on complex journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. This position also supports audits and external reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial operations.

Location: Manassas, VA 100% Onsite

The Role

• Own complex journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
• Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations
• Analyze variances versus budget, forecast, and prior periods
• Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and management reports
• Support external financial reporting requirements
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits
• Other duties as assigned

The Candidate Minimum Requirements

• Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master of Business Administration or Certified Public Accountant
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel and Word
