Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for a large-scale federal design-build construction project in the Laredo, TX area. You will oversee safety compliance, implement EM 385-1-1 requirements, and develop AHAs for 60+ miles of heavy-civil work.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30 certification, and proven SSHO experience on big federal projects, with on-site travel to Laredo for the duration of the assignment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction safety experience.
• SSH0 on two federal design-build projects valued at $5M+.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Experience implementing EM 385-1-1, AHAs, inspections, subcontractor safety oversight, excavation, heavy equipment, and lifting operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SSHO for a large-scale federal design-build construction project.
• Implement EM 385-1-1 safety requirements across all project activities.
• Develop and oversee Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
• Conduct regular safety inspections across the project site.
• Provide subcontractor safety oversight.
