Job Description

As a Senior SSD Technical Program Manager (TPM) in the SSD engineering group, you will lead, enable, and support the Solid-State Drive (SSD) product development teams to deliver programs on schedule and to specification, following Micron’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes and templates. A successful Sr. TPM will understand the various SSD subsystems, the SSD development and qualification lifecycle and processes, and how SSD customers qualify and purchase products.

As an independently functioning Technical Program Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the Product Delivery Team (PDT) by managing the operational aspects of the SSD product development team. To succeed, you must collaborate effectively with other functions worldwide to support successful product delivery into high volume manufacturing. This involves product definition, project planning, schedule management, SSD and non-SSD build plan execution, risk management, issue resolution, program update communication to VP and Senior VPs across multiple organizations, and lessons learned tracking.

Responsibilities and Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding and executing Micron’s SSD Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes
  • Holding engineering teams accountable to schedules and Boundary Agreements
  • Ensuring engineering teams meet interim and final product milestones that satisfy requirements/criteria
  • Driving program alignment across all cross-functional teams to ensure dependencies are captured and tracked
  • Providing accurate weekly program health and tracking metrics to stakeholders
  • Developing SSD build forecasts and planning for program roadmaps and budgets
  • Tracking build plan budgets and delivery to development teams
  • Generating program status reports with inputs from cross-functional teams, including technical status, schedule, risk, quality, and other health metrics
  • Collaborating with other SSD TPMs and process owners to improve SSD processes
  • Demonstrating effective use of Micron’s tools and processes
  • Driving product DFMEA across SSD functions and at the system level

Education

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Industrial, Management) with 3+ years of SSD Program Management experience

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in electronic/semiconductor system development, preferably SSD or mass data storage systems
  • Minimum 3 years program management experience in SSD New Product Introduction preferred
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills for resolution and next steps
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in SSD design, including components like ASIC, NAND, DRAM
  • Strong knowledge of SSD design components and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engineering, management, and executive audiences
  • Quick learner with high self-motivation, passion, and dedication
  • Experience optimizing SSD development build plans for NPI
  • Extensive leadership experience in High-Capacity SSD Data Center programs
  • Proficiency with program tracking tools such as Jira, EazyBI, PowerBI, Tableau, Splunk
