Job summary

ERCOT is seeking a Senior Systems Reliability Engineer in Taylor, TX. You will design and operate reliability tooling, governance of SLOs, and lead incident response to keep critical North American energy software dependable.

The role partners with software engineers to bake reliability into every deployment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in SRE, strong Python/Java, and hands-on experience with Grafana LGTM, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in systems reliability, SRE or related field.
• Experience defining SLOs and error budgets for complex systems.
• Proficiency in Python and Java with reliability tooling.
• Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reliability tooling and automation.
• Own SLO governance, error budgets, and observability for assigned systems.
• Lead high-severity incident response and post-mortems across platforms.
• Partner with software teams to ensure reliability is designed in from the start.
