Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer for the Starlink program in Hawthorne, CA. The role focuses on upgrading distributed systems to be sharded and geo-redundant, while advancing deployment, monitoring, and alerting across multiple data centers.

You will collaborate with engineers across programs to deliver scalable, operable services, covering the full software lifecycle from design to operation, with emphasis on performance improvements and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering/math or related field, with 5 years of software development experience.
• Or 7+ years of professional experience building software with site reliability or DevOps.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade existing distributed systems to be sharded and geo-redundant in multiple data centers.
• Advance deployment, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure for a multi-region environment.
• Collaborate with engineers across programs to create highly operable, scalable products.
• Engage in the full software development lifecycle from inception to deployment and refinement.
• Focus on performance bottlenecks and performance improvements.
