Job summary

Catapult Federal Services in the United States is seeking a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) III to design, deploy, and maintain mission-critical workloads on VMware or Kubernetes while ensuring scalability, availability, and government compliance.

You will build automated CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and configuration management across development, integration, staging, and production environments. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in software or systems roles, an active Top Secret clearance

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required; higher clearance preferred.
• DoD 8140 certification or equivalent security credentials.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• 7+ years in software development, systems engineering, or operations with reliability ownership.
• Experience blending software engineering with systems administration for highly available apps.
• Experience designing monitoring, alerting, and observability to meet SLIs/SLOs.
• Incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement experience.
• Proficiency with Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Bash scripting, Kubernetes, and F5 load balancers.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain mission-critical workloads on VMware or Kubernetes, ensuring scalability, availability, and government compliance.
• Develop and sustain automated CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and configuration management for reliable delivery and observability.
• Provision and maintain developer environments and toolchains for rapid, secure development workflows aligned to the mission.
• Identify developer friction and implement solutions to enable developer-first environments.
• Establish and maintain customer trust through deep technical expertise and innovative mission-aligned solutions.
• Lead or participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
