Job summary

MariaDB is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to support our U.S. government cloud initiative. This role is remote within US with a Salt Lake City, Utah preference and a hybrid work arrangement.

You will deploy and operate Kubernetes in AWS GovCloud and Google Cloud, own production reliability, and collaborate with security and platform teams. You bring 10+ years in SRE/DevOps, strong IaC with Terraform/Terragrunt, GitOps, Linux networking, and observability skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SRE/DevOps/infrastructure experience.
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform/Terragrunt; GitOps.
• Linux, networking, TLS fundamentals.
• Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Scripting: Go, Python, or Bash.
• Clear written communication and runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate Kubernetes in AWS GovCloud (US) and Google Cloud using Terraform/Terragrunt and GitOps.
• Own production reliability for the US government cloud: monitoring, incident response, post-incident improvements.
• Operate observability, logging, secrets, messaging, and CI/CD on Kubernetes.
• Contribute to security hardening and FedRAMP/compliance with security teams.
• Automate repeat tasks by turning them into code.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
