Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Senior SRE Engineer to build secure cloud foundations for FedRAMP High and IL5, with ownership of GovCloud foundations, provisioning, guardrails, and governance automation. You will collaborate with teams to enforce cloud standards.

You’ll design reusable IaC modules, translate FedRAMP requirements into practical architectures, and contribute to runbooks and documentation for audit-ready operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on with AWS multi-account environments and Terraform.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or Ruby.
• Familiar with Control Tower, Account Factory for Terraform, CloudFormation, EventBridge, Lambda, and IAM Center.
• Strong understanding of reliability, security, cost management, and developer experience tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate AWS GovCloud foundations for FedRAMP High and IL5, including Organizations and provisioning.
• Implement service control policies, landing-zone patterns, and governance automation.
• Create reusable IaC modules and paved-road patterns for secure, consistent deployments.
• Support standardized cloud resources: VPCs, IAM, prefix lists, and account controls.
• Develop federal-focused services: account workflows, FinOps reporting, and compliance automation.
• Collaborate with teams to translate FedRAMP requirements into practical cloud models.
• Assist in incident response, cost anomalies, and production support.
• Produce runbooks, docs, and evidence-friendly operational records.
• Mentor engineers on secure cloud patterns and best practices.
