Job summary

Onebrief is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Security team. You will work closely with product engineers, SREs, security, and customer success, fixing reliability at the source in TypeScript while supporting on-prem DoD and AWS environments.

You will monitor, alert, and triage production issues, own SLIs/SLOs, and lead blameless postmortems. Relocation to Arlington, VA is supported with required Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering or related role with real-time coding experience.
• Strong TypeScript (or comparable modern language) experience.
• Solid SDLC understanding and how reliability fits in design, review, testing, release.
• Experience with incident response, root-cause analysis, and turning findings into fixes.
• Collaborative across product, platform, and DevOps teams; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Improve the production application by working directly in the codebase (TypeScript) to fix reliability and performance issues.
• Build observability: design and run monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana).
• Own reliability targets: define and measure SLIs/SLOs, wire alerts to them and prove reliability with data.
• Lead incident response: act as incident responder/commander; conduct blameless postmortems to drive fixes.
• Automate toil: reduce repetitive ops work by writing tools and sharing fixes, including in air-gapped environments.
