Job summary

Altium Limited, part of the Renesas Group, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in San Diego to ensure the reliability and performance of its cloud platforms. You will work across engineering and DevOps to automate operations and improve observability, contributing to incident management and capacity planning.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product teams to elevate resilience, implement IaC, and drive scalable deployment practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE, DevOps or related role in a large-scale environment
• 3+ years professional experience in software development
• Software development experience (ideally .NET)
• Strong understanding of SDLC, microservice and HA architecture
• Observability tools experience: NewRelic, ELK, Grafana, PagerDuty, OTEL
• Production experience with Kubernetes clusters, AWS, IOC
• Experience with operational tasks
• Knowledge of CI-CD tooling: Jenkins, Gitlab, GitHub, ArgoCD
• Knowledge of IaC: Terraform, Ansible
• Networking fundamentals
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres)

Responsibilities

• Understanding how an Altium Cloud Platform works
• Pioneer improvements in observability including logging, monitoring, and APM
• Develop and implement reliability frameworks to standardize resilience
• Cultivate a shared responsibility model with engineering teams on reliability
• Contribute to incident response and post-incident analysis for continuous improvement
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, upgrades and capacity planning
• Collaborate with engineering to enhance product stability, observability, and manageability
• Drive automation, promote IaC, and streamline deployments for efficiency
• Champion SOO principles for clear service ownership
