Job summary

Altium Limited, part of the Renesas Group, seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in San Diego, CA, to ensure reliability, availability, and performance of large-scale software systems. You will automate operations, enhance observability, and drive incident management across the Altium Cloud Platform.

You will partner with development and DevOps teams to build scalable services, champion IaC, and promote best practices in reliability engineering across regions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE, DevOps or related role in a large-scale environment
• 3+ years professional experience in software development
• Software development experience, ideally .NET
• Strong understanding of SDLC, microservice and HA architecture
• Observability tools: NewRelic, ELK, Grafana, PagerDuty, OTEL or similar
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters in production, AWS, IOC
• Experience with CI/CD tooling: Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, ArgoCD or similar
• Knowledge of IaC: Terraform, Ansible
• Basic networking fundamentals
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres) a plus

Responsibilities

• Understand how the Altium Cloud Platform works
• Improve observability: logging, monitoring, APM
• Develop reliability frameworks for SaaS products across regions
• Educate and collaborate with engineering teams on reliability practices
• Contribute to incident response and post-incident analysis
• Participate in system design, platform management, capacity planning
• Promote IaC and streamline deployment processes for efficiency
• Champion SOO principles to clarify service ownership
