Job summary

Garner Health in the United States is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and resilience of our cloud infrastructure powering Garner's products and AI/ML workloads. This role sits on the Platform Engineering team and emphasizes automation to help engineers ship faster while maintaining high production quality.

This remote-friendly position offers hybrid work with occasional travel to NYC.

Qualifications

4+ years of hands-on production cloud infrastructure experience in SRE/DevOps.
Deep expertise with Kubernetes and Terraform in cloud-first environments (AWS preferred).
Strong observability track record: defining SLOs, building monitoring and alerting, and leading incident response and blameless post-incident reviews.
Software engineering fundamentals in Python or Go for infra automation.
Experience with AI/ML workloads in production is a plus.
Experience operating in security-conscious or regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end reliability, performance, and resilience of Garner's cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes) and SLOs.
Lead on-call incident response and oversee deep-dive root-cause analysis with rigorous action follow-up.
Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to detect and resolve issues before users are affected.
Translate high‑level scaling needs into automated, IaC deliverables (Terraform) and optimize cloud cost and performance.
Automate away toil using AI tools and standardized processes across platforms.
Enable engineering by maintaining deployment/observability standards and communicating complex concepts clearly.
Uphold security and HIPAA compliance across infrastructure and operations.
