Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. is seeking a Database Engineer III (Lead Engineer) to lead engineering delivery and platform improvements across the enterprise SQL Server environment.

You will serve as a hands-on SQL Server expert, coordinating design, migration, testing, deployment, and operations transitions. The role partners with Database Engineering, Architecture, Application, Security, Infrastructure, and MSP Operations to deliver scalable, secure database solutions, with knowledge of Oracle or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of enterprise database platforms, engineering, and administration.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on Microsoft SQL Server.
• Minimum 3 years with at least one additional platform domain (Oracle or Distributed Data Platforms).
• Experience leading technical delivery for upgrades, migrations, performance remediation, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, upgrade, migration, optimization, and lifecycle management of assigned SQL Server platforms.
• Coordinate tasks, validate approaches, identify risks, and ensure alignment with standards and security.
• Provide senior escalation support for performance, availability, backup/recovery, and security issues.
• Drive platform reliability, monitoring, capacity planning, and automation improvements.
• Mentor engineers, support standards adoption, and act as escalation point for SQL Server projects.
