Job summary

Wedbush Securities is seeking a Senior Database Administrator – SQL Server with deep SQL Server and PostgreSQL expertise. You’ll lead the database architecture for large datasets, optimize performance, and ensure compliance tooling integrates with our platforms.

The role collaborates with Engineering, DevOps, and Compliance teams to deliver scalable, reliable data solutions. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in database administration, strong SQL tuning skills, and experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/IT or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years in database administration, with 8+ years in Microsoft SQL Server (2016+).
• Strong PostgreSQL experience including administration/optimization.
• Proven ability to manage and optimize very large datasets (2B+ records).
• Experience with high-availability solutions (Always On, Log Shipping, Replication).
• Scripting in PowerShell, T-SQL, Bash or Python for automation.
• Familiarity with Azure/AWS cloud databases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle for compliance applications from requirements to delivery.
• Ensure capabilities align with SEC/FINRA regs for recordkeeping and governance.
• Liaise between Compliance, Legal, Engineering and vendors.
• Drive integration of third‑party compliance tools into platforms.
• Collaborate with data teams to ensure auditable compliance data for reporting.
• Lead agile ceremonies, manage backlogs, and deliver timely solutions.
• Evaluate and manage vendors providing compliance tech.
• Support internal audits with documentation and transparent workflows.
