Job summary

MedRisk is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own architecture, high availability, and lifecycle management of enterprise SQL Server environments. You will mentor DBAs, partner with development teams, and lead complex upgrades, migrations, and cloud transitions.

You will drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and enforce standards for security, backup/recovery, and auditing. Strong communication and leadership are essential for cross‑functional success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in a production enterprise environment.
• Expert‑level knowledge of T‑SQL, including complex query optimization and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated experience with high availability and disaster recovery architectures (Always On, failover clustering, log shipping).
• Experience with cloud‑hosted SQL Server environments (Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance or AWS RDS) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain highly available, secure SQL Server environments.
• Own HA/DR strategy and lead regular DR testing.
• Lead capacity planning and performance initiatives; resolve systemic performance issues.
• Enforce database standards, security, backup/recovery, and change management.
