Job summary

MCG Health is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure-hosted settings. You will manage a large fleet of production instances, perform upgrades and disaster recovery, and collaborate with Engineering and Support to resolve complex issues.

The role emphasizes automation, proactive monitoring, and providing technical guidance while working with customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of Windows Server administration (2019+).
• 5+ years of SQL Server administration (2019+) and database design.
• 5+ years of T-SQL development, including stored procedures and design.
• 5+ years of SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
• 5+ years supporting SQL Server 2019 clusters on an Azure VM.
• 5+ years supporting web applications in an n-tier architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize SQL Server environments hosted on Azure.
• Administer and support a large fleet of production SQL Server instances.
• Diagnose and resolve complex database and application performance issues.
• Perform database upgrades, patching, backups, restores, and disaster recovery.
• Support data extracts, data scrubbing, and maintenance activities.
• Deploy and configure customer environments and application components.
• Partner with Engineering and Support teams to resolve advanced issues.
