Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Architect & Data Engineer in New York, NY. The role blends database design, SQL Server administration, and data engineering to build scalable data platforms, ETL pipelines, and analytics capabilities.

The candidate will drive enterprise data solutions, governance, security, and performance tuning while collaborating with business and technical teams in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in database administration, architecture and related disciplines.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise or large-scale environments.
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and development.
• Advanced SQL/T-SQL knowledge with complex queries, scripting, and procedures.
• Experience with data warehouses and data lakes; ETL development using SSIS.
• Experience with Python and PowerShell for data processing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise database architectures for transactional, analytical, and operational apps.
• Develop data models (conceptual, logical, physical) aligned with business needs.
• Establish governance and standards for data management and architecture.
• Create scalable, highly available and secure database environments.
• Architect solutions for backup/recovery, replication and DR; ensure business continuity.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical design discussions; provide senior guidance.
