General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee vendor quality, assess supplier performance, and review QMS processes. The role supports downstream manufacturing and requires travel to supplier sites to ensure PO requirements are met.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 5+ years post-grad experience, and the ability to obtain a SECRET DoD security clearance. Strong communication, analytical, and auditing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline.
• 5+ years of professional post grad engineering experience.
• Ability to travel (potentially extensively at times).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD security clearance.
• LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black Belt and ASQ CQE/CQM certifications are preferred.

Responsabilités

• Oversee supplier quality and manage vendor performance.
• Review Ordering Data, Supplier Capability Assessments and QMS Reviews.
• Perform problem resolution, process audits, surveillance and product inspection.
• Evaluate material defects and quality trends; drive root cause actions.
• Travel to supplier locations to understand manufacturing and quality practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet Navy and Electric Boat goals.

Formation

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Structural or Industrial Engineering

LEAN Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

ASQ CQE or ASQ CQM certification

US military experience
