Job summary

Major League Soccer is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Sporting Affairs in the United States to support legal, compliance, and financial reporting within the Sporting Affairs function. You will assist in player transactions, roster and salary budgets, and league rule administration.

The role requires 2–4 years in a corporate paralegal or compliance track, with strong research and writing skills and knowledge of MLS rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–4 years in corporate paralegal, financial reporting or compliance role within law firm, sports org, or business.
• Deep knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer, its clubs, players, and rules.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Strong research and writing abilities; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Support sporting-related processes, including player transactions and roster/salary budgets.
• Coordinate sporting administration and compliance (immigration, registrations, payments).
• Maintain database of transaction agreements.
• Track intra-league exchange and allocation money usage.
• Update budget reflections for midseason acquisitions on pro-rata basis.
• Assist compliance investigations and enforcement; disputes with international bodies as needed.
• Liaise with MLS Clubs, League Office, and broader soccer landscape.
• Support interpreting and administering League Rules; assist in MLS events.
