Job summary

KBR seeks a Senior Splunk Engineer/Architect for the JTDI Program to analyze requirements, design dashboards and alerts, and deliver integrated Splunk services within a complex system.

The role requires 5+ years in Splunk, Python/CSS, and experience with SQL Server and MongoDB. A Secret clearance (Top Secret potential) is required or feasible, with on-site work in Maryland area and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or IT-related field; additional experience may substitute.
• 5+ years of Splunk experience; leadership preferred.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Proficiency with Python, CSS, and PowerShell or Linux shell.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB); Splunk DB Connect and API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Receive, analyze, and deliver Splunk service requirements including dashboards, alerts, and queries.
• Sustain and configure dashboards, portlets, apps, and related components.
• Design interfaces to ensure subsystem integration and viable system performance.
• Perform functional analysis to meet mission constraints and feed results to development teams.
• Carry out engineering tasks under leadership, including testing and installation.

KBR is seeking an experienced Senior Splunk Engineer/Architect for the Joint Technical Integration (JTDI) Program.

Responsibilities

• The candidate will receive, analyze, and deliver requirements for Splunk services such as dashboards, alerts, notifications, and queries. They will also sustain and configure dashboards, portlets, applications, and more.
• Performs various engineering work in developing an operable system capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints, including mass, cost, and schedule.
• Designs and/or researches subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system.
• Performs functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back into the subsystem development teams.
• Execute specific engineering assignments under the direction and guidance of leadership. Carries out predetermined concepts and procedures for equipment or interface design, testing, construction and installation, engineering research, and study programs.

Basic Qualifications

• Located within commuting distance to Patuxent River, MD to provide future SIPR Splunk support
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or IT-related degree. Additional experience is accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in an Splunk role, a leadership position preferred.
• Active/Current Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain. Must be eligible to obtain TS Clearance.
• Working knowledge of Python, CSS, and PowerShell or Linux Shell
• Support and integration experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, as well as NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB, leveraging Splunk DB Connect, API integrations, and scripted inputs to onboard and analyze enterprise data.
• Ability to work with JIRA and Scrum methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Web design or development experience
• Experience supporting AWS cloud logging services and integrating cloud-generated logs into Splunk for centralized monitoring, reporting, and incident investigation.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week.

Compensation

$105,000-157,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
