Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi seeks a licensed speech-language pathologist to provide diagnostic, habilitative and rehabilitative services to adults with communication disorders in a teaching hospital setting. The role focuses on improving voice, language and speech through individualized therapy programs.

You will assess, plan, implement and supervise treatment, collaborates with other health care professionals, and help patients and families adjust to communication impairments.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State license in Speech Pathology.
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification.
• Two years of full-time paid professional experience in speech pathology.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patients with speech and language disorders and determines etiology, history and severity.
• Assesses, evaluates, analyzes and treats communicative disorders.
• Plans programs to restore or improve communicative ability.
• Consults with other health care professionals when referrals are needed.
• Attends evaluation conferences and rounds to monitor progress.
