The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join the VA Western New York Healthcare System, Buffalo or Batavia campuses.

The Speech Therapy Clinics are within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service. You will perform diagnostic assessments, develop care plans, and treat speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Aufgaben

• Independent diagnostic assessment and evaluation of cases referred to Speech-Language Pathology.
• Conduct interviews with patients and family/friends; administers and interprets diagnostic tests for speech, language, voice, fluency, cognition and swallowing.
• Plan, conduct, coordinate, and monitor patient-centered treatment and rehabilitation to maximize function.
• Develop and maintain a plan of care for swallowing disorders in collaboration with other healthcare practitioners.
• Serves as a consultant for complex cases and stays current with SLP developments through continuing education.
