Job summary

Dialpad, the AI platform for customer experience, seeks a Sr. AI Engineer: Speech to lead models and systems for our voice agents. You will guide ASR, decoding, and real-time inference, mentoring engineers and delivering reliable, scalable solutions.

The role reports to the Sr. Manager, AI Speech, with options to base in the US or Canada hub locations or work remotely. Strong Python/PyTorch and production ML experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in speech ML, speech recognition, audio AI, or closely related field.
• Strong Python and PyTorch; production coding experience."
• Experience building low-latency, production-grade ML or backend services.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for speech-model and decoder strategy across the team.
• Lead research, adaptation, and implementation of ASR/STT and related audio models.
• Improve the speech pipeline end-to-end, including decoding and latency.
• Benchmark, prototype, and iterate models for real-world gains.
• Design and ship production-grade ML/inference components in the cloud.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
