Job summary

L3Harris Canoga Park is seeking a Sr. Specialist Software Engineer to lead real-time embedded control software and application software for propulsion systems.

You will guide a team across requirements, design, implementation, and testing in a high-impact defense environment. The role emphasizes technical leadership, system-level architecture, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to shape critical space and national security missions.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of experience; or a Graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Demonstrated leadership across all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead a software development team responsible for Embedded RTOS and/or application software development, provide guidance, oversee activities, and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop software documentation, support internal and customer reviews, and assist with program milestone preparations.
• Drive software process improvement by analyzing metrics, identifying gaps, and evaluating tools and resources to raise organizational capability.
