Job Description

Many of our customers require a high degree of order visibility, communication, and support for critical programs. The Program Management team at Microchip’s Mount Holly Springs (MHS) facility plays a key role in ensuring customer commitments are understood, communicated, and successfully executed from order inception through final shipment. Reporting directly to the MHS Operations Manager, the Program Manager serves as a primary point of coordination between our customers and internal teams, including Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Production, and Vectron PLM. This role is responsible for monitoring program progress, identifying potential risks, coordinating resolution of issues, and keeping both the customer and internal stakeholders informed throughout the life of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor customer programs from order inception through final shipment and closeout, ensuring contractual, quality, schedule, and documentation requirements are met.
  • Conduct formal contract reviews to ensure customer purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and other contractual requirements are understood and communicated throughout Microchip.
  • Identify and coordinate applicable U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) ratings, flow-down requirements, and other customer-specific requirements for inclusion in Microchip Supply Chain purchase orders.
  • Monitor the progression of key program activities, including:
    • Sales order release
    • Bill of Material (BOM) generation and release
    • Drawing releases and engineering change orders
    • Material procurement and supplier delivery commitments
    • Non-conforming material issues and corrective actions
    • Production, inspection, testing, and final shipment
    • Review drawing and configuration status and coordinate required customer documentation, reviews, and approvals.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Project milestone schedules covering major program activities from kitting through final shipment.
  • Provide regular program status updates to customers and internal stakeholders, typically on a biweekly basis or as significant program events warrant.
  • Coordinate customer and internal program meetings, including Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), as required by contract.
  • Maintain meeting minutes, track action items, and follow up with responsible parties to ensure timely closure.
  • Proactively communicate activities, issues, risks, and concerns that may impact customer requirements, quality, schedule, or delivery.
  • Coordinate customer on-site visits and serve as a key point of contact throughout the visit.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and coordinate activities necessary to support timely material delivery and program execution.
  • Participate in MHS Production status meetings and communicate relevant program priorities, risks, and customer commitments.
  • Identify customer deliverable and data requirements and coordinate timely submission of required documentation.
  • Support MHS Quality Assurance in coordinating and hosting customer source inspections.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination and issue resolution for matters affecting schedule, quality, performance, or revenue.
  • Coordinate third-party testing, processing, or other external services as required to support customer programs.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers through consistent communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in program management, project management, customer program management, operations, engineering, supply chain, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Previous experience working with a prime contractor, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated customer environment is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to develop a working, conversational understanding of the technical and quality aspects of Microchip’s products and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret customer purchase orders, specifications, drawings, and other contractual requirements and translate them into actionable internal requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively across multiple functions and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong customer-service mindset and the ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential schedule, quality, and contractual risks before they impact the customer.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing environment.
Why This Role Matters
