Job summary

MSD Malaysia is seeking a Learning Consultant to partner with business leaders in formulating development strategies and plans that drive measurable outcomes. You will design and implement learning solutions, evaluate program effectiveness, and support cross-functional teams to ensure learning aligns with evolving organizational goals in the oncology space.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience (4 years with Master’s).
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • 2+ years in Learning & Development, training, or capability-building in healthcare/biotech.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Learning Partners and stakeholders to identify performance needs and align learning solutions with priorities.
  • Deploy and manage learning curricula, communications, and resources across oncology products and audiences.
  • Develop, maintain, and organize learning assets and program tracking tools (Excel, LMS, planning platforms).
  • Evaluate learner engagement and program effectiveness via dashboards and analytics.
  • Collaborate with Training teams to support reinforcement activities and measure impact.
  • Implement knowledge reinforcement strategies and learning interventions to improve retention.

Job description

Job Description The Learning Consultant acts as a partner to business management formulating learning and development strategy and plans designed to drive outcomes for the business. Understands the organization’s talent, functional/technical capability, and leadership development needs. Develops and implements a variety of learning solutions to meet the organization’s long and short term needs to build people capability. Utilizes data and business driven insights to measure the effectiveness of programs and inform ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Learning Partners and business stakeholders to identify performance needs and recommend learning solutions that align with commercial priorities.
  • Deploy and manage learning curricula, communications, and resources across multiple oncology products and customer-facing audiences.
  • Develop, maintain, and organize learning assets, templates, and program tracking tools using platforms such as Excel, internal planning platforms and learning management systems.
  • Evaluate learner engagement and program effectiveness through standardized reporting, dashboards, and analytics, using insights to inform improvement.
  • Collaborate with Training teams to support reinforcement activities, monitor learning adoption, and measure business impact.
  • Implement knowledge reinforcement strategies, assessments, and learning interventions that improve retention and on-the-job application.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure learning initiatives remain aligned with evolving organizational goals and customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, or currently in pursuit of degree completion, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience (4 years with Master’s degree).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in Learning & Development, training, sales enablement, or capability-building roles within a commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotech environment.
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, oncology, or commercial training experience preferred, especially in the hematology space.

The salary range for this role is $129,000.00 - $203,100.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
