Job Description

The Senior Labor Relations Investigations Specialist will be responsible for investigating potential policy violations, alleged misconduct, and employee work-related concerns to resolution in a manufacturing 24/7 plant site. Responsibilities include intake, case planning, interviews, data review, documentation, and making recommendations regarding corrective action. The candidate must objectively analyze data, draw reasonable conclusions, and collaborate effectively with various organizational levels and functions within and outside Human Resources/Labor Relations.

Additionally, as part of the US HR Employee and Labor Relations Center of Expertise, responsibilities include supporting grievance procedures, developing tools and resources, and leading multi-site labor relations projects.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and document workplace investigations in a union environment, ensuring fairness and compliance with contracts, company policies, and law.
  • Provide guidance to HR generalists and managers on issue resolution and remediation of union-related employee issues.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders (Legal, Security, Health Services, Union) regarding employee issues.
  • Analyze investigation data, identify trends, report findings, and recommend organizational improvements.
  • Serve as a fact witness at arbitrations and hearings.
  • Educate managers on investigation processes.
  • Lead or contribute to other labor/employee relations projects.
Required Education/Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial/Labor Relations, or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a union environment, including contract administration and grievance resolution.
  • At least 2 years' experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Knowledge of US employment laws and policies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong consulting and influencing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with clear documentation skills.
  • Objectivity and fairness in sensitive situations.
  • Self-directed with ability to manage a significant caseload with urgency.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in manufacturing/GMP environments.
  • Experience developing manager training.
  • Data analytics skills.
  • Proficiency with HR tools and systems.
