UCSF Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science invites applications for a Junior/Assistant/Associate/Full Specialist to support translational virology and immunology research. You will process samples, design flow cytometry assays, and mentor trainees while aiding manuscript preparation and community reporting of findings.

The role involves managing lab data and equipment, developing new viral-host panels, and contributing to high-quality, reproducible results for studies

Qualifikationen

• Baccalaureate degree or equivalent with 4+ years of research experience.
• Master’s degree or a BA/BS with 3+ years of research experience.
• Ten or more years in a relevant specialization for senior levels.

Aufgaben

• Support day-to-day sample processing for human blood and tissue samples.
• Design and execute high-parameter flow cytometry assays for studies.
• Train new users in flow cytometry and viral-host assays.
• Manage daily operation of laboratory equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Isolate primary immune cells for downstream assays and analyses.
• Mentor students and SRAs on panels and protocols.
• Provide data analysis, manuscript preparation, and scientific communication.
• Assist with project design, implementation, and interpretation.
• Work with HIV and other chronic infections including SARS-CoV-2.
• Participate in PI project development and documentation.
