About this opportunity:

Join Cenovus Energy as a Downstream Coking and Thermal Conversion Technologies subject matter expert, providing technical leadership to ensure process safety, reliability, and performance. In this role, you may also support other technical areas. Your expertise drives sustainable, cost-effective solutions that help meet compliance goals and deliver significant value, potentially up to $100M annually, through improved efficiency and reduced operational losses. Preference to individuals who currently reside or can relocate to Dublin, OH, or any of the US Cenovus Refineries. (Lima, OH; Toledo, OH; Superior, WI)

What you’ll do:

• Develop and implement a technology plan to improve Thermal Conversion processes.
• Lead the coking network’s Community of Practice to standardize and improve engineering standards.
• Provide technical assurance and support across projects and refineries.
• Identify and promote opportunities for operational improvements.
• Mentor and develop refinery technical resources to ensure robust troubleshooting and standardized processes.
• Develop and deliver technical training programs for engineers and operations teams.

Who you are:

• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering
• Professional Certification or License in Engineering
• 20+ years of downstream unit operations and technical experience
• 5+ years of experience in thermal conversion unit processes
• Proven expertise in Coking and additional heavy oil processes
