Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Alpharetta, GA, is seeking a Senior Specialist, Design to contribute to PCB layout design on a product development team. You will collaborate with layout designers, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to deliver high-quality PCB designs for programs across the business.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of PCB experience or equivalent. Knowledge of Xpedition, Allegro/Altium is preferred, and the ability to obtain a US security clearance

• Graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Interpret schematic and mechanical CAD data and lay out PCBs per customer requests.

Job Description:

This position, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design, will work on a product development team responsible for the design of Printed Circuit Board layouts. You will collaborate with layout designers, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to produce high-quality designs for various programs across our growing business.

Essential Functions:

• Design Printed Circuit Boards using Siemens Xpedition CAD software.
• Produce and release layout files with fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Interpret schematic and mechanical CAD data and lay out PCBs per customer requests.
• Collaborate with the ECAD Design team and internal engineering customers.
• Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to ensure mechanical accuracy.
• Ensure PCB layout accuracy and compliance with IPC Class 3 standards and follow established L3Harris design and fabrication guidelines.
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Valor NPI experience.
• BluePrint experience.
• Cadence Allegro CAD software knowledge.
• Altium and/or PADS software knowledge.
• Experience creating PCB layouts using ECAD tools.
• Experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies for military, airborne, and space applications; PCB layout techniques; and electrical schematics.
