Job summary

Becker Professional Education, part of Colibri Group, seeks a Senior Specialist, Curriculum Development to expand CPA/CPE/CMA content and update existing courses.

You will collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams to design instruction, review materials, and manage project timelines, ensuring content stays current with tax and accounting changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, finance and/or accounting preferred.
  • CPA and/or CMA credential required, CPA or dual CPA/CMA is preferred
  • Master’s degree with 2+ years’ experience with content development preferred
  • 5+ years expertise in Taxation, Accounting/Auditing and/or Corporate Finance
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong organizational and resource management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Adobe Acrobat skills
  • Experience with project management tracking tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop new content and maintain existing content for Becker’s products and courses
  • Follow developments in the accounting profession and plan the timely development of content based on current events and new pronouncements
  • Write and/or review questions (e.g. multiple choice, simulation, essay)
  • Track development of course content and report regularly to management on development status
  • Provide guidance to production team on content design and on the tables, graphics and images used in content
  • Collaborate and respond to inquiries from cross functional teams
  • Review course content developed by subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Coordinate the projects and timelines of course content developed by SMEs
  • Train SMEs on the use of course templates and learning platforms
  • Leverage instructional design principles in the development of content and courses
  • Assist with instructional design of new and existing content according to Becker’s proprietary design templates
  • Maintain library of current pronouncements, changes to tax law, exposure drafts of potential future pronouncements and inform SMEs of changes in authoritative literature to ensure that course content is current.
  • Review and critique the Becker learning platform and other learning tools.
  • Exhibit strong communication (both written and oral) and coordination skills as this role will require interface with SMEs at various levels as well as corporation with cross-functional teams
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the role is the expansion of our CPA, CPE and CMA curriculum through the development and updates of our existing content and new products and courses.
