Job summary

Latham & Watkins seeks a Senior Specialist to join the Austin Events team. You will assist the Manager - Client Events, lead event organization, plan, project manage, and attend events.

The role supports both in-office and hybrid work arrangements and requires a strong background in business development or marketing within a professional services environment. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience, a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and an events qualification is preferred.

About the Role

The Senior Specialist is an integral part of Latham's Events team. This role will be responsible for assisting the Manager - Client Events in delivering a successful events program, while leading the organization of events, including working independently on projects and partnering with the Manager - Client Events to plan, project manage, and attend events. This role will be located in our Austin office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Pro-actively coordinating various aspects of the event lifecycle, including planning meetings, checklists, budgets, expense processing, vendor management, onsite and virtual platform management, data management, post-event analysis
• Curating targeted invitations lists for each event, working closely with stakeholders and e-marketing team
• Drafting event communications and collateral that align with Latham branding
• Developing and controlling budgets for each event; identifying, negotiating, and achieving cost savings with venues and vendors
• Continuously staying abreast of event best practices as well as market and industry trends
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

• Exhibit good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients and staff at all organizational levels of the firm
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus

And have:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent
• An events qualification, preferably
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a business development or marketing role
• Experience in a professional services environment, preferably

Pay Range

USD $105,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
