Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and finalize customized presentations, pitch decks, and RFP responses for new business opportunities and client meetings reflecting the Firm’s funds leadership.
  • Publicize initiatives, services and matters internally and externally in line with Firm policy.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and trends and provide market insights.
  • Research and analyze clients, competitors, markets, trends and industries.
  • Maintain funds-related CRM data and attorney biographies, deal lists, rankings, and client contacts.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Funds CDE team to communicate key initiatives.
  • Aggregate key metrics to inform BD strategies.
  • Prepare submissions for funds directories and publications.
  • Maintain website content and attorney bios across channels.
  • Coordinate marketing material creation with Graphics and vendors.
  • Foster relationships across CDE, practice groups, and departments.

Job description

This is a high-impact opportunity to partner with senior attorneys and Client Development & Engagement leaders, helping to showcase the Firm’s experience, deepen client relationships, and drive strategic growth. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that values initiative, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity—and you’ll work closely with colleagues across the Transactional practices and our global Client Development & Engagement organization.

The Senior Specialist, Client Development - Funds is responsible for supporting the Firm’s global client development initiatives for the funds practice by organizing and leveraging information about the Funds practice and lawyers, and providing research and analysis about clients, competitors, markets, trends and industries. This role assists Client Development & Engagement in ensuring work product, communications and critical functions meet the Firm’s high standard of excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, edit, and finalize customized presentations, pitch decks, and RFP responses for new business opportunities and client meetings that reflect Simpson’s dominance in the funds market

  • Serve as a go-to resource for the Firm’s Funds credentials by ensuring initiatives, services and significant matters are publicized internally and externally in accordance with Firm policy

  • Serve as a resource regarding the funds practice, attorney expertise, related organizations, media and market positioning; stay abreast of developments and trends in the industry

  • Research and provide analysis about clients, competitors, markets, trends and industries

  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of the funds-related data for the Firm’s CRM system and other core information, (e.g., attorneys’ biographies, deal and experience lists, rankings/awards, practice area descriptions, and client contacts)

  • Work with Senior Funds CDE team to ensure consistent communication of key initiatives and cross-practice opportunities

  • Aggregate and interpret key metrics for internal and external stakeholders to inform BD strategies

  • Prepare and, where required, manage submissions and survey responses for funds-related directories and publications

  • Assist in maintaining website content, attorney biographies and practice group descriptions and other Client Development and communications materials across multiple channels: web, print and electronic formats

  • Coordinate the creation of marketing materials, working with the Graphics team and outside vendors where appropriate

  • Build trusted relationships across the CDE team, corporate practice teams, and firmwide departments to deliver coordinated and effective results

  • Assist in coordinating Firm-sponsored events, presentations and event logistics, (e.g., formatting invitations, tracking RSVPs, and assisting with follow up)

  • Support Funds Client Development projects and other Firm initiatives as needed

  • Work with stakeholders in other Departments and in other offices, as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, English, communications, marketing or related field

  • Ability to quickly develop organizational astuteness and understand the Firm’s culture, vision, policies and practices

  • Proficiency in MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred
  • Prior experience in marketing and business development field at a law firm preferred

  • Some familiarity with Content Pilot’s suite of products or other experience database a plus

  • Experience updating/maintaining a website preferred

  • Demonstrated experience using a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system preferred

Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
