Job summary

Builders Capital is seeking an experienced Senior Special Assets Loan Officer to protect capital and maximize recovery across a portfolio of Residential Transitional Loans. You will independently develop and execute strategic workout and resolution strategies, partnering with senior leadership, legal counsel, servicing partners, and capital partners to minimize losses.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in special assets, credit workouts, loan servicing, or asset management focusing on RTL, construction, bridge, or fix‑and‑flip lending.
• Strong understanding of workout strategies, foreclosure processes, collateral liquidation, and OREO management for 4–6 unit properties.
• Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and develop optimal resolution strategies to maximize recovery and minimize risk.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of non-performing and high‑risk RTL and construction loans to minimize losses and ensure compliance.
• Lead evaluation and resolution of complex workouts through modifications, foreclosures, sales, or other strategies.
• Develop and refine workout strategies based on borrower capacity, collateral, market dynamics, and risk exposure.
• Present recommendations to senior management and capital partners with clear financial analysis and risk outlook.
• Guide junior team members on loan analysis, workout strategies, and documentation.
• Coordinate with Legal, Servicing, Production, Underwriting, and Asset Management to execute coordinated resolutions.
