Job summary

Blue Origin's Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop critical navigation sensors used across Blue Origin spaceflight vehicles.

You will lead hardware development, testing, and certification efforts for sensors such as IMUs, gyroscopes, magnetometers, RF systems, and star trackers to meet stringent PNT and redundancy requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in electronic design, preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • Proficiency in schematic design using Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent.
  • Experience in complex circuit design, PCB layout, and selection of components.
  • Working knowledge of PCB design, assembly processes, and PCB layout software.
  • Some software experience in C, C++, Python.
  • Self-starting and thrives in a fast-paced, new product development environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, test, and deploy sensors for spaceflight navigation, such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, magnetometers, Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), wireless radios, RF, star trackers, etc.
  • Lead the development of simple and reliable hardware meeting PNT and redundancy requirements.
  • Drive regulatory and certification activities and electrical/mechanical failure analysis.
  • Lead acceptance and qualification testing for space worthy sensors and EEE components (EMI, radiation, etc.) including test execution, data collection and analysis.
