Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks a Spacecraft Systems Engineer to drive the development of Blue Ghost and Elytra spacecraft from concept through fabrication, test, and flight. You will collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, integration, test, and launch teams to ensure a thoroughly tested, reliable vehicle that meets system requirements.

You will validate architectures, manage budgets, and translate program plans into system-level success while supporting missions and 12-hour shifts during

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace Engineering or related field required.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience on spacecraft programs.
• Experience leading interdisciplinary project teams of hardware and software engineers.
• Strong working knowledge of aerospace standards (ASME, MIL, NASA) and systems engineering best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create system-level designs, schematics, interface control documents and budgets (fluid, electrical, software).
• Own requirements development and vehicle-level test plans; review test plans.
• Lead system-level trades, design reviews, and data reviews for the vehicle.
• Ensure issue resolution, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and integration teams; support offsite testing and lunar mission operations.
