Job summary

Gravitics is seeking a highly capable Systems Engineer to support architecture development through qualification, integration, test, launch, and mission operations for a commercial spacecraft program. The role collaborates with Chief Engineers, subsystem leads, program management, manufacturing, and vendors to ensure the spacecraft is a coherent, verifiable system rather than a collection of subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace systems engineering or integrated vehicle development.
• Experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, aviation, defense, or complex multidisciplinary systems.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering processes: interface management, verification/validation, configuration management, and risk management.
• Experience supporting technical reviews and hardware development programs.
• Ability to operate across multiple engineering disciplines and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop spacecraft system architecture, requirements, interfaces, and verification approaches for the program.
• Translate mission objectives into subsystem and vehicle-level requirements.
• Develop and maintain system specifications, ICDs, CONOPS, verification matrices, and baselines.
• Drive technical integration across structures, propulsion, avionics, thermal, docking, and ground systems.
• Support program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR) and ensure producibility and verifiability.
• Develop verification and validation plans including qualification, acceptance, protoflight, and vehicle testing.
• Participate in anomaly resolution, risk reduction, and hazard analyses.
