The Aerospace Corporation is a premier space engineering partner supporting NASA, NOAA, and other federal agencies. This onsite role at Johnson Space Center in Houston focuses on spacecraft mechanisms, systems engineering, and project management for human-rated space systems.

We seek a Senior Project Engineer with a decade of experience, capable of leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating international collaborations, and supporting design, verification, and flight readiness activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of experience in human rated spacecraft mechanisms and structures.
• Hands-on design experience of spacecraft flight hardware systems with interface coordination.
• Experience leading systems engineering and integration for complex spacecraft.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering and integration lifecycle, including hardware development, analysis, operation, hazard reviews, anomaly resolution, requirements verification, and flight acceptance testing.
• Perform architectural and technical studies supporting NASA customers with focus on mobility mechanisms.
• Provide SME support to formulation and testing teams, coordinating activities and risks.
• Support assessment of engineering design concepts and architectures.
• Perform systems engineering, integration, and test activities.
• Support system-level trade studies, op concepts, and verification of requirements.
