Job summary

Xona Space in Burlingame, CA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own end-to-end assembly processes for high‑reliability hardware such as GNC components and solar arrays.

You’ll define validation strategies, specify fixtures, and mentor technicians while partnering with design engineering to ensure producibility from early gates through production.

This hands-on role requires 5+ years in complex manufacturing, strong metrology skills, and experience with environmental testing.

Qualifications

• End-to-end ownership of a mechanical assembly process.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specs.
• Experience with nonconformance management and CAPA.
• Hands-on metrology experience with calipers, micrometers, and torque tools.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing and assembly process for assigned build areas, including tooling and continuous improvement.
• Define validation strategy and acceptance criteria from drawings and specs.
• Plan and qualify fixtures and tooling, and test/inspection equipment.
• Mentor engineers and technicians as the team scales.
• Support environmental and production acceptance testing for hardware.
