Job summary

EVONA in Colorado is seeking a Senior Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to own manufacturing readiness across space-grade programs, coordinating across engineering, production, quality, and supply chain.

You will drive process improvements, ensure manufacturability, mentor technicians, and support milestones from design reviews through integration and test. This is a high-visibility role shaping the full manufacturing lifecycle of advanced spacecraft hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • 5–10 years of mechanical manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting complex electromechanical or aerospace hardware through production.
  • Experience with non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering and production teams.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Own manufacturing readiness for mechanical components and assemblies across multiple programmes.
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements, standardisation, production scalability, and cycle time reduction.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve manufacturing, quality, and yield challenges.
  • Support assembly, integration and test activities for spacecraft hardware and propulsion systems.
  • Lead manufacturing input during design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
  • Investigate non-conformances and perform root cause analysis.
  • Develop manufacturing plans, work instructions, SOPs, travellers, and production documentation.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids.
  • Work alongside technicians during builds, providing guidance and mentoring.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and manufacturing documentation standards.
  • Manage manufacturing orders, inventory flow, inspections, and material availability.
  • Collaborate with procurement to maintain production schedules.
  • Support major programme milestones including CDR, MRR and TRR reviews.
