Job summary

Varda is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Embedded Software Engineer to join our Flight Software team in El Segundo, CA. You will determine how our spacecraft behaves and build reliable software for in-orbit operation, from requirements capture to testing and flight operations support.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and 5+ years in safety-critical software, with C++ expertise and experience in real-time embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, math, physics, engineering or equivalent safety-critical software experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft or other safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software and C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own all software development phases: design, testing, integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and design trades.
• Write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software in C++.
