Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team. You will determine how our spacecraft behaves in orbit and develop reliable software across requirements, testing, and flight operations.

The role focuses on embedded firmware in C++, with exposure to bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux platforms, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to execute high-stakes missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, physics or math.
• Experience in safety-critical software development.
• 5+ years in spacecraft or safety-critical software.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware to control the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own all stages of software development from design to testing.
• Conduct requirements capture and initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write reliable C++ code for bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux environments.
• Build highly reliable software systems and ensure quality through V&V techniques.
