Job summary

SAIC seeks an experienced Space Vehicle Systems Engineer to support a Major System Acquisition for resilient space capabilities. You will contribute to the design, development, and testing of satellite vehicles and manage interfaces across the spacecraft lifecycle, emphasizing software-intensive systems.

The ideal candidate holds a TS/SCI clearance, 10+ years in space vehicle development, and strong experience with government acquisition programs; travel domestically is possible.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Experience with IC or DoD space architectures, spacecraft, and payloads
• MS in engineering, STEM field
• Minimum 10 years of space vehicle development experience
• Strong systems engineering, interfaces, and integration background
• Experience with government acquisition programs and offices
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel domestically

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive systems engineering support to government customers within an integrated program office
• Support full lifecycle acquisition and systems engineering from pre-acquisition through launch and on-orbit checkout
• Lead and support software and interface-focused systems engineering efforts, including ICDs and requirements artifacts
• Coordinate with contractor teams to resolve interface issues and manage technical risks
• Prepare and review technical documentation and decision materials
• Represent government at reviews and TIMs with technical assessments
• Organize systems engineering forums and interface coordination meetings
• Interface across Enterprise to support cross-program software integration and interoperability
• Evaluate contract deliverables and provide recommendations to government
• Maintain program documentation in compliance with federal standards
