Job summary

Palski & Associates, Inc. in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a senior space test engineer to provide TE&V support to USSF Space Training and Readiness Command at Schriever SFB, collaborating with Test and Evaluation Squadrons.

You will lead complex test programs, design and execute experiments, review Safety Packets and Test Plans, ensure robust data management, and guide analysis to meet customer specifications. A TS/SCI clearance and 10+ years in space/test roles are preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in test, evaluation, and experimentation.
• Experience leading complex test engineering activities (strategy, planning, execution, reporting).
• Experience using DoE or other scientific test techniques including modeling/simulation.
• Space operations and orbital mechanics knowledge or astrodynamics.
• Understanding of orbital mechanics and space operations.
• Knowledge of space system architectures, EO/IR/RF sensors, data communications, GNC, satellite systems, or mission planning.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and 10+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior space test and evaluation support with understanding of test, evaluation, and experimentation, including distinctions between development, operational, and integrated tests.
• Design, develop, and execute advanced test/experimentation programs to assess space systems.
• Create and review test engineering docs: test plans, Safety Packets, Test Information Sheets, Data Analysis and Management Plans, TSB briefs, Test Cards, and Test/Analysis reports.
• Review systems to ensure DMAP data collection is adequate for data management and analysis.
• Monitor MS data gathering and guide test result evaluation against customer specs and performance expectations.
• Set up data analysis requests, process data, perform data QC, resolve anomalies, and analyze data per plan.
• Analyze pre-test predictions to design tests/events, define data collection requirements, and develop go/no go criteria.

You will

Work with our team to provide support to the USSF Space Training and Readiness Command at Schriever SFB, working with the Test and Evaluation Squadrons.

• Provide senior space test and evaluation support with an understanding of test, evaluation and experimentation and the distinctions between development, operational, and integrated tests.
• Design, develop, and execute advanced test/experimentation programs and processes to conduct assessment of space systems.
• Create and/or review test engineering documentation including test plans, Safety Packets, Test Information Sheets and Data Analysis, and Management Plans, Technical and Safety Review Board Briefs, Test Cards, Test Readiness Briefs and Test/Analysis reports as required.
• Work with programs to perform reviews of systems, sub-systems, and components to ensure data management and analysis plan (DMAP) provides proper data collection.
• Monitor the gathering of M&S data and guide test result evaluation to determine if system configurations and architecture meet customer specifications and performance expectations.
• Set up data analysis requests, process data, perform data quality control review and anomaly resolution, and analyze data per the analysis plan
• Perform analysis on pre-test predictions, including those obtained through M&S, to design tests and events and profiles, define data collection requirements, and develop go/no go criteria to meet test objectives.
• Create/enhance data analysis tools.

You have

• Demonstrated expertise in test, evaluation, and experimentation
• Experience successfully leading/managing complex test engineering activities including test strategy development, test planning, test execution and reporting
• Experience using Design of Experiments or other Scientific Test and Analysis Techniques including modeling and simulation
• Space operations and/or orbital mechanics and knowledge or astrodynamics
• Understanding of orbital mechanics and/or space operations
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant technologies: Space Systems Architectures, EO/IR/RF Sensors, Space related data communications, Spacecraft GNC, satellite systems, or satellite mission planning
• Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Math, or Science
• An active TS/SCI Clearance
• The ideal candidate will have 10+ years’ experience
