Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, California, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer- Structures to own manufacturing processes for primary and secondary structural assemblies of reentry capsules and spacecraft. You will bridge design intent with production reality, working with engineers and technicians to improve cadence and quality.

You will develop detailed work instructions, implement tooling and fixtures, and lead root-cause investigations for defects while coordinating with supply

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience with structural assembly.
• Experience with riveted, bolted, or bonded structures.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience writing manufacturing process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing processes for composite structures and machined components.
• Develop and maintain work instructions and travelers for structural build operations.
• Provide DFM feedback to engineers on design and tooling.
• Enforce cleanliness and FOD prevention in structural ops.
• Lead investigations for structural defects and drive corrective actions.
