Job summary

SmithGroup in Atlanta seeks a Senior Space Planner to lead research and space planning for higher education, healthcare and other sectors. You will manage complex projects, develop space models with data analysts, and present findings to clients and teams.

The ideal candidate brings a professional degree, 10+ years in related fields, and strong proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI, plus Archibus and MS Office. Hybrid work options and regional travel are available.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Data Science or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years related experience preferred.
• Experience with higher education planning, space management, and/or institutional research.
• Proficiency in space planning at building and campus levels.
• Knowledge of data analytics and data visualization software preferred.
• Demonstrated thought leadership through publications or presentations.
• Ability to travel regionally and/or nationally ~25-30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead in research, analysis, and distillation of data to inform planning solutions.
• Manage project scopes, fees, and oversee deliverables and quality.
• Work with data analysts to create space models and analyses for clients.
• Lead presentations with internal teams, consultants, and clients.
• Develop tools and data visualizations and contribute to thought leadership.
• Foster client relationships and support business development and recruiting.
