Job summary

Parallax Space seeks a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to architect and scale manufacturing for satellite systems and space components. You will build the production architecture, engineering org, and factory infrastructure to move from early builds to sustained rate production.

The ideal candidate translates designs into controlled, repeatable processes, leading strategy, teams, and technical problem solving on the manufacturing floor, with a focus on throughput, quality, cost, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years in manufacturing engineering or complex-hardware production.
• Proven ability to design and scale manufacturing processes, production systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Experience designing cells, layouts, workflows, capacity models, and ramp plans.
• Strong command of lean manufacturing, DFMA, quality, configuration control, and process engineering.
• Experience with MES, ERP/MRP, PLM, or equivalent digital production systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing strategy and ramp plans for satellite and component output.
• Architect work cells, layouts, production flows, and repeatable operating concepts.
• Model takt time, cycle time, throughput, WIP, capacity, staffing, and equipment needs.
• Lead MES/ERP/PLM integration and digital work instructions.
• Implement traceability, material control, and configuration management.
