Job summary

Parallax Space is seeking a Senior Production Systems & Manufacturing Engineer to design and scale the production system for space vehicles. You will own long-range manufacturing strategy, facility layout, and digital factory integration to enable high-rate production while partnering with facilities and engineering teams.

The role requires leading cross-functional planning, capacity modeling, and capital investments. Prior experience in high-rate manufacturing and ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 15+ years of manufacturing or production engineering experience.
• Experience architecting and launching large-scale production systems from concept to stable rate production.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, DFMA, process control, and quality systems.
• Experience defining or implementing MES, ERP/MRP, PLM or similar digital production systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (US person for ITAR/EAR).

Responsibilities

• Architect Parallax’s large-scale SV manufacturing strategy, linking roadmap and demand to rate, capacity, and capital plans.
• Define multi-year production roadmaps with ramp phases and readiness gates.
• Build models for capacity, takt, cycle time, staffing, WIP, and cost per unit.
• Define vertical integration and make/buy strategy with engineering and supply chain.
• Develop business cases for major manufacturing investments including CapEx and ROI.
• Architect factory layout, material flow, and test flow through to shipment.
• Lead greenfield/brownfield facility planning and expansion paths.
• Define a replicable factory model across lines and sites.
• Set automation strategy and digital factory architecture (MES/ERP/PLM).
• Mentor engineers and represent Parallax to customers and partners.
