Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Harness Design Engineer II to lead the electrical harness design, integration, and documentation for spacecraft programs. You will define interfaces, select components, specify locations, and generate critical documentation to support the engineering team.

The role emphasizes electrical design, wiring, and system architecture interpretation, supporting the full lifecycle from design to fabrication and integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• 8+ years electrical/avionics experience.
• Experience with spacecraft harness design a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical harness systems for spacecraft.
• Generate wiring diagrams, pinout tables, and interface definitions.
• Collaborate with systems engineering to interpret system architecture and define electrical interfaces.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for harness systems in the PLM tool.
• Develop and maintain fabrication drawings and documentation using Capital Essentials, NX, and Teamcenter.
• Support harness fabrication processes and ensure compliance with space-grade standards.
• Define and verify harness acceptance criteria, including electrical testing and inspection.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper harness integration.
