Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Space Systems Engineer to lead mission safety and reentry compliance.

You will drive the Flight Safety Analysis, regulatory strategy, and licensing efforts for FAA Part 450, ensuring sound reentry methodologies and safety artifacts across design and operations. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, own FHA/FMEA at vehicle level, and support real-time operations and live recovery missions with rigorous risk management and

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, systems engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years aerospace engineering experience with mission assurance, flight safety, or senior systems engineering.
• Experience with FAA Part 450, casualty modeling, trajectory dispersion, or debris analysis.
• Excellent communication skills across cross-functional teams and regulators.
• Strong risk management experience with FHA, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
• Experience integrating interdisciplinary aerospace systems.

Responsabilidades

• Own the regulatory strategy, means of compliance, and safety cases for FAA launch and reentry.
• Own vehicle-level FHA and FMEA analyses.
• Maintain casualty and debris risk models to meet safety thresholds.
• Establish safety limits and mission rules for real-time on-console operations.
• Deliver vehicle-level regulatory artifacts to authorities for licenses and approvals.
• Serve as Flight Safety responsible engineer during rehearsals and live recoveries.
